SALT LAKE CITY – The General Convention is not only a meeting and convention, but it is a bi-cameral legislative body. In the 12 days of convention, a large number of issues come before different committees on liturgy, budget and other issues in the form of resolutions, each numbered and named.
The committee central to to it all is the Resolutions Committee, which reviews the resolutions in order to make sure they are consistent in style and make sense. The Rev. Canon Michael Durning, a deputy at General Convention and also Canon to the Ordinary, is serving on that committee at his first General Convention as a deputy.
Below, a short video with Canon Durning which explains a bit of what the committee does.
