SALT LAKE CITY – The Rev. Becca Stevens preaches today at 9:30 a.m. mountain (11:30 eastern) at General Convention, where she has brought staff and a booth to promote her Tennessee ministry for women, Thistle Farms. (Link to worship HERE.)
She sat down for a few minutes with the Diocese of Southwest Florida while in the lobby of the historic Peery Hotel. Stevens is an author, Episcopal priest and founder of Thistle Farms-Magdalene, a community of women who have survived prostitution, trafficking and addiction. She founded the residential community in 1997, and the social enterprise in 2001.
Thistle Farms employs residents and graduates of Magdalene, and houses a natural body care line, a paper and sewing studio, Thistle Stop Café, and its new global initiative, Shared Trade.
